Believe it or not Fall is here. And the leaves are not the only thing that will be changing, so will your skin. Here are some steps to transition your skincare routine to have that Fall glow.
Change your cleanser. Switch to a cream base cleanser that will not strip the skin of its natural oils. With the cooler days ahead the skin needs to stay extra hydrated. Often foam, gel, and scrub cleansers are better for hot summer days.
Add skin correctors back into your routine. Now is a great time to reintroduce retinols and skin lighteners. These products can make your skin more photosensitive so it is often smart to stop them during the summer months. Retinols can help with cell turnover and lighteners can help reduce annoying summer sun damage.
Apply topical Hyaluronic Acid. HA products help the skin hold in more moisture and replenish moisture loss. It can even add an extra hydration boost if added before moisturizer.
Don’t forget the SPF. Even though summer is fading, we still need to protect our skin during those sunny fall days. Tinted moisturizers are perfect for this time of year. They often include a moisturizer, tint, and SPF making this three in one product a must have!

What’s the safest way to enjoy the summer sun for you– and your skin? Most of us these days are well-aware that regularly applying skincare products containing an SPF of at least 30 can offer greater protection from the sun’s harmful rays. These products also help to prevent the fine wrinkles and spots associated with sun damage, helping to make the skin look younger.
Now, CVS is also taking SPF seriously. In a recent press release, the company has indicated its stores will soon no longer carry any suncare products with SPFs less than 15, replacing them with SPF 30 products. Find out what prompted this change and how it may affect your product choices.
