Labiaplasty

While not currently a common procedure such as face lifts or liposuction, there is an increasing interest among patients seeking labiaplasty. Also called "labioplasty" or "labia reduction," this surgery reduces the folds of skin around the vulva. These folds are the "labia majora" and the "labia minora."

The most common reason for patient interest in this procedure has been for medical reasons. Often patients wish to reduce the chafing and discomfort associated with active sporting lifestyles, though the procedure is also done in cases of damage to the labia from disease and childbirth and, more rarely, for purely aesthetic reasons.

At the offices of Dr. McCafferty, we have had a long history in performing labiaplasty procedures, with our first procedure done in 1987.

All of our labiaplasty procedures are performed after a thorough medical consultation, where we work to understand patient needs and ensure that every procedure is safe and successful.
